There are situations in which caregivers want to have their child ride in a reclined, forward-facing child restraint.* Some products allow use in this position, while others do not. (Some vehicle seats have such a slope that even an upright child restraint (CR) is quite reclined when installed.)
This recline feature can be helpful on long journeys or when a child has difficulty sitting upright or holding up his or her head.
Click here (xls) for a list of current models that can be used in the reclined position when forward facing.
*NOTE: A child under age 2 should ride rear facing as long as possible, within the height and weight limits of his or her CR.
