A rear-facing car seat with a specialized harness by Merritt Manufacturing of New Whiteland, Indiana.

Description

This car seat is specifically for use by children with a medically fragile belly, for instance due to an omphalocele.  Thanks to its yoke-style harness, this model meets safety standards without any strap crossing the belly; it is also trach-friendly.  To prevent infection, the cover is made of medical-grade, anti-microbial naugahyde that can be wiped down with non-bleach hospital disinfectants.
